The William Smith Centennial kicked off on Founder's Day, December 9, 2006. Students and faculty gathered in the Great Hall of Saga to honor of the 100-year anniversary of William Smith’s gift to form the college which bears his name. In addition to dinner, there were speeches and performances by the Colleges' vocal ensembles. Students also dressed to represent the Charter Class of 1912 as well as all decades of William Smith students. With President Gearan, they reenacted the famous photo of William Smith with the Charter Class.
