Political Cartoons in the Hobart Herald, 1939-1941

This exhibit outlines the genesis of art education at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, the influence of Professor Norman Kent, and the artistic contributions of Hobart student James L. Morgan to the Hobart Herald, which commented upon various political issues in the lead up to World War II. 

Pulteney Street Through the Years

This exhibit traces the history of Pulteney Street from its earliest history to today. By examining the buildings that have come and gone, the exhibit tells the story of how a muddy farm road became the vibrant center of campus.

The Middle Building

This exhibit presents the history of the Middle Building, which was located between Geneva and Trinity Halls. It was built as the Geneva Medical College in 1836 and was the Hobart College library when it tragically burned down in 1885.

The Satyrae of Persius: A Glimpse into Ancient Satire and Renaissance Manuscripts

This exhibit explores the works of the 1st century Roman Poet Aulus Persius Flaccus and features a translation of his 5th Satire from a 1507 manuscript.
